Charles F. Mooney M.D., P.A.

Biography

Dr. Mooney is a native of West Virginia. He spent his childhood years in Bonn, Germany and is fluent in German. He completed high school in West Virginia.

Dr. Mooney obtained a B.S. from Baylor University in 1977 and a Medical Degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 1984. He completed an Internship in Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital/The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Affiliated Hospitals in 1985. He then completed a General Surgery Residency at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in 1989.

Dr. Mooney is certified by The American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons. He is a member of numerous professional societies including The American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Grayson County Medical Society, American College of Surgeons, American Society of General Surgeons, and The Southwestern Surgical Congress.

Dr. Mooney began a solo practice in Sherman, Texas in 1989. From 1996 to 2003, he was a partner in Sherman Surgical Associates, L.L.P. In late 2003, he returned to a solo practice. He currently has privileges at Texoma Medical Center, and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Sherman.

Dr. Mooney lives in Sherman with his wife. They have two sons and one daughter. He is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He has also participated in numerous civic organizations.
