    What Is A General Surgeon?

A General Surgeon is a specialist who has had five to seven years of advanced training in surgery of the organs of the abdominal cavity including the liver, spleen, pancreas, the abdominal wall, endocrine system, breasts, and skin.

As a specialist in general surgery, Dr. Mooney is trained to diagnose and recommend the most appropriate therapy, whether it be surgery or to monitor a particular condition or to take preventative measures that can help avoid the need for surgery in the future.

Dr Mooney participates in many Managed Care networks including Medicare, Texas and Oklahoma Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, and PHCS. If your network is not listed, either contact your insurance company or call our office at (903) 957-6000.
